Best MICE Destination Rest of the World 2026

The global destination winning international MICE business

Enter this category Sponsor this category

Long-haul MICE is a category of bids of a different scale. Singapore, Dubai, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Cape Town, Bangkok, São Paulo and the new Saudi destinations.

These locations, are amongst those competing for events where the bid sheet runs to six or seven figures of subvention and the on-the-ground delivery has to absorb thousands of delegates across hotels, venues, ground transport and after-hours programming. The destinations that win are those that have organised serious capacity behind a corporate proposition the international planner can take to a global board.

The Best MICE Destination Rest of the World award, part of the Travelling for Business Awards 2026, recognises that destination. The category is open to convention bureaus, DMOs and host destinations outside the UK and Europe.

Judging is anchored in the bid-economics criteria scaled to long-haul: direct air capacity from feeder markets, visa and entry friction for delegates, venue scale, the supporting hotel inventory, the incentive product, and the destination’s safety and security reputation. ICCA international rankings, UNWTO international tourism data and the World Travel & Tourism Council research inform the panel’s view alongside submitted evidence and reporting in Travelling for Business magazine.

The category sits alongside Best MICE Destination UK and Best MICE Destination Europe. Long-haul carriers supporting MICE bid economics typically also enter Best Long-Haul Airline and the Best Ground Transportation Company in the Rest of the World category.

The judging panel includes planners with international event experience. Sponsorship is open: sponsorship.

What we look for

The Best MICE Destination Rest of the World 2026 judging criteria.

Long-haul MICE is judged on the criteria that decide a global event bid. Access, direct long-haul lift from feeder markets, frequency, schedule reliability, heads the criteria, because air capacity dictates bid economics outside Europe. Visa and entry friction is assessed for the typical delegate profile. Venue scale and the supporting hotel inventory matter alongside the destination's incentive product, because corporate events here are often hybrid conference-and-incentive. Safety, security and the destination's reputation for stability are weighted explicitly. The winner is the city or region a planner can confidently put in front of a global board for a flagship event.
