From Machu Picchu to the world's most celebrated dining scene, Peru's promotion board is putting a South American icon on the business travel map. PromPerú joins the 2026 awards as event partner.
Attached to Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, the organisation promotes the country’s exports, investment and visitor economy worldwide, with European offices championing everything from Peruvian gastronomy and pisco to the destinations that have made the country a bucket-list fixture.
Few countries offer such variety in a single trip. Peru spans three great regions, the Pacific coast, the Andean highlands and the Amazon jungle, containing 84 of the world’s 117 recognised life zones and more than 10,000 years of history. Its UNESCO World Heritage Sites run from the Sacred Valley’s Inca citadels to colonial city centres, crowned by Machu Picchu, the lost city that remains one of travel’s great arrivals. PromPerú’s current campaign, “Peru, the richest country in the world”, makes the point neatly: wealth measured in experiences rather than possessions.
Peru has a serious claim on the corporate market too. PromPerú promotes the country as a MICE destination through its dedicated meetings platform, pairing modern conference infrastructure in Lima with incentive experiences competitors struggle to match, from Sacred Valley retreats to Amazon lodges. The capital’s dining scene seals the deal for client entertaining: Lima’s Maido was named the world’s best restaurant in 2025, the latest in a long run of global accolades for Peruvian cuisine. Wellness-led incentive travel is a growing strength as well, a theme our editors explored in Peru, the pinnacle of holistic luxury.
PromPerú’s storytelling increasingly reaches British audiences at home. A Machu Picchu virtual reality experience has debuted in London and Manchester, giving UK travellers a taste of the Andes before they book, while Peruvian restaurants across Britain carry the country’s flavours far beyond Lima.
As an event partner of the Travelling for Business Awards, PromPerú connects the UK’s leading business travel awards with one of the world’s most rewarding destinations. Start exploring at peru.travel.
