SAP Concur is a Finalist for Best Travel App at the
2026 Travelling for Business Awards, and its position needs little introduction: for a generation of corporate life, Concur has been where business travel is booked, receipts surrender and expense reports go to be reconciled. Embedded across a vast share of the world's large employers and integrated into the SAP estate that runs their finances, it is less an app than infrastructure — the system of record for the working journey. Ubiquity of that order carries obligations, and the platform has chosen renovation over rent-collection — the right answer.
Travelling for Business has followed the platform's evolution closely, and the current cadence is its boldest.
The current chapter is reinvention at scale. The platform
unveiled a sweep of AI features at GBTA Europe, pointing corporate travel towards genuinely automated administration: itineraries assembled and adjusted by intelligent agents, expenses that generate and audit themselves from receipts and card feeds, and policy applied invisibly at the point of booking rather than punitively after it. Policy as guardrail, not ambush. For travel managers, the promise is the end of expense-report drudgery — reclaiming the hours that surveys perennially rank among office life's most resented. Early deployments suggest the drudgery really does shrink, task by automated task, quarter by quarter.
The travelling employee's experience keeps improving in step. The mobile app captures receipts by camera and forgets them never; bookings, approvals and itinerary changes flow through the phone; TripIt's consumer polish feeds the same ecosystem; and integrations — airlines, hotels, rail through the platform's expanding partnerships, cards, HR systems — mean data arrives once and reconciles everywhere. Duty-of-care visibility and emissions reporting satisfy the modern programme's other masters, compliance and sustainability. Crucially for adoption, the intelligence arrives inside workflows companies already run — no migration, no retraining battalions — which is why the install base upgrades rather than churns away.
For UK corporates, Concur's case is systemic: every trip inside policy, every pound accounted, every report automated a little further each quarter. The nomination recognises the incumbent refusing to behave like one — the enterprise standard, upgrading itself before the disruptors finish their pitch.
