Singapore Airlines is a Finalist for Best Long-Haul Airline at the
2026 Travelling for Business Awards — a recognition that will surprise few frequent flyers. For decades the Singapore flag carrier has set the standard against which long-haul service is measured, and its performance on routes from the UK continues to justify that reputation.
The airline's long-haul operation is built around Singapore Changi, one of the world's most efficient transfer hubs, from which its network fans out across Southeast Asia, Australasia and beyond. For UK-based travellers, the one-stop proposition keeps deepening. Heathrow remains the flagship gateway, served by multiple daily departures including the Airbus A380, while Manchester stepped up to daily flights in July 2026 and Gatwick moves to a daily service from October 2026.
Madrid joins the map in October 2026 as the carrier's fifteenth European destination, widening the options for multi-city itineraries.
Consistency is the quality business travellers cite most often. Cabin standards are high in every class, crews deliver the same measured service on a midweek red-eye as on a flagship departure, and the operation is punctual and predictable. named Singapore Airlines the world's best long-haul carrier — the only airline in the field to score four out of five for value for money.
Investment continues at pace. A modern widebody fleet led by the A350-900 and A380 keeps the product fresh across all four cabin classes, from Suites to an economy product regularly rated among the world's best, with touches such as Book the Cook pre-ordered dining extending choice well beyond the standard trolley. From early 2027 the carrier will begin fitting Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi, free of charge for premium-cabin passengers and KrisFlyer members. Gate-to-gate connectivity fast enough for video calls and large file transfers is a meaningful productivity gain on a twelve-hour sector, and it signals how seriously the airline takes the working traveller.
Its place among the 2026 Finalists reflects what corporate travel managers already know: on the routes that matter to UK business, Singapore Airlines combines network reach, schedule depth and a product that rarely disappoints.
