The 2024 judges met a house investing continuously in fabric and service while guarding its character fiercely, and placed it among the country's elite in a shortlist won by Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, with The Pig at Harlyn Bay alongside, arguably the strongest UK hotel field the Awards have assembled.
Cliveden's event pedigree is its own credential. The house has hosted everything from statecraft to cinema, and its meeting and celebration spaces, panelled halls, the French Dining Room, terraces commanding the parterre, give corporate occasions a register no modern venue reaches. Planners prize the estate's discretion as much as its drama: the long drive and river frontage that once guarded aristocratic privacy now guard off-sites and announcements requiring the same.
