The case the business traveller actually buys, and replaces with the same brand
Durability, weight, organisation and the warranty behind the case all matter; so increasingly does the brand’s position on repairability and sustainability, as both the corporate traveller and the corporate programme behind them tighten their focus on responsible consumption.
The Best Luggage Brand award, part of the Travelling for Business Awards 2026, recognises the brand the business traveller actually buys, replaces and recommends. The category is open to global, regional and direct-to-consumer luggage brands operating across the price spectrum from premium hard cases to value soft luggage.
Judging examines the carry-on and check-in product range across price points, the durability and warranty behind it, weight and capacity against the segment, the practical organisation of the interior, smart and connected features assessed for usefulness, and the brand’s position on sustainability and repairability.
Materials, end-of-life policy and the brand’s repair scheme are weighted explicitly. Industry benchmarking from IATA carry-on sizing guidance and detailed product reviews from Travelling for Business magazine inform the panel’s view.
Repeat-purchase loyalty, do owners buy the same brand again, is the editorial spine of the assessment. The category complements Best Long-Haul Airline, Best Short-Haul Airline and Best Frequent-Flier Programme, which together describe the traveller’s relationship with the journey.
The 2026 judging panel includes frequent flyers who buy and replace luggage in real-world business travel use. Sponsorship details: sponsorship.
Luggage is judged on what the business traveller actually buys, replaces and recommends. The carry-on and check-in range across price points heads the criteria, but durability and the warranty behind it sit at the centre of the score, the business traveller is a heavy user, and the case has to last. Weight, capacity and the practical organisation of the interior are weighed for daily use, not photo-shoot styling. Smart and connected features are assessed for usefulness, not novelty. Sustainability and repairability, materials, the brand's repair scheme, end-of-life — close the set, alongside repeat-purchase loyalty: do owners buy the same brand again?
