Richard Alvin Awards Director

Richard Alvin is Managing Director of the CBM Events, the live and awards arm of Capital Business Media - the publisher behind Business Matters, Travelling for Business, EV Powered and Property Portfolio Investor. CBM Events delivers black-tie awards, industry dinners and conferences across the group's senior B2B verticals, and under Richard's leadership has built a track record of multiple successful award programmes - repeat sponsors, returning judges, headline venues.

He now serves as Awards Director of the Travelling for Business Awards, staged in 2026 in partnership with Uber for Business. Following the programme's 2025 edition in Las Vegas, the awards return to London on 22 October 2026 for a black-tie gala dinner recognising the airlines, hotels, MICE destinations, loyalty programmes, mobility platforms and travel-tech innovators redefining business travel. Editorially led, independent, no pay-to-play. Richard owns the editorial direction, judging framework and senior partner relationships - the single point of contact for category sponsors.

Andrea Thompson Events & Awards Manager

As a highly experienced Executive PA coordinating both office and personal lives for other people, Andrea decided to add a Degree in Wedding and Event Planning.

Having arranged many dinners, receptions, corporate days and events with passion, Andrea was lucky enough to be asked to help organise the Love GOSH Valentines Ball 3 years running and has been the event manager of the Business Champion Awards since their founding in 2022.

Andrea is so excited that she has been asked once again to add a little professional flair and some humour in creating another spectacular evening for these auspicious awards.

Andrea finds it very rewarding arranging for other people to be recognised as a Business Champion – people make events into stories and stories give events meaning.

Grace Moseley Graphic Designer

With over 7 years’ experience in Graphic Design, Grace has been using her creative flair to bring the Business Champion Awards to life since it was founded in 2022.

From the social media, emails and stationery to the overall look and feel on the final awards night, the design of the awards has to be impactful and on brand, which is where Grace comes in.

Previous to working for the awards, Grace worked in the marketing team at the Daily Mail Newspaper and for the beauty magazine, YOU, creating seasonal campaigns as well as being the lead designer for the YOU Beauty Advent Calendar in 2020.
