About this entry

Why Hilton was shortlisted.

Hilton was named a Finalist in the Best Hotel Brand of the Year category at the 2025 Travelling for Business Awards, recognition for the company whose name became, for much of the world, simply another word for hotel.

More than a century after Conrad Hilton bought his first property, the group's portfolio spans the full architecture of modern travel: Waldorf Astoria and Conrad at the luxury summit, the flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts marque, lifestyle plays like Canopy, and the DoubleTree, Hampton and Hilton Garden Inn engines that power the working week. Travelling for Business reviewers know the range first-hand, praising the Conrad London St. James as a luxurious oasis in the capital's heart and Canopy by Hilton London City as a vibrant urban base in the East End - two ends of one brand promise, both kept.

That promise is Hilton's real product: whatever the flag, the traveller can rely on the fundamentals - clean, connected, consistent - executed with a century's institutional memory. Digital key and the group's app have made arrival friction-free; meetings and events capability runs deep across the estate; and the storied houses keep making news, from Waldorf Astoria's worldwide renaissance inspired by its New York original to characterful additions joining collections like Curio around the globe. Hilton Honors, itself a Finalist in this year's rewards category, binds the whole system together for the frequent traveller.

Voters placed Hilton where its history earns it: among the giants, in a Finalist field alongside Hyatt, with the 2025 title going to Marriott - hospitality's three great names measured side by side.

The second century has opened at pace. The Waldorf Astoria New York - the grande dame that named an entire idea of glamour - has returned from its landmark restoration; new brands like Spark and LivSmart Studios extend Hilton's welcome into value and extended-stay segments the group once left to others; and a development pipeline among the industry's largest ensures the familiar handshake keeps reaching new cities first.

As the Travelling for Business Awards look towards 2026, Hilton remains the industry's most familiar handshake: the brand that taught the world what to expect from a hotel, and continues, quietly and globally, to deliver exactly that.
